Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos said in an interview with ANT1 that the government is seeking to recover €480 million allocated for 1,400 unfinished investment projects funded under the 2004 and 2011 development laws.
“For the development laws of 2004 and 2011, we have found that funds were allocated for investments that were never finished. We have started issuing recovery decisions for these funds,” he said.
He added that each case is being referred to the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) for further action.
“We will ensure that not a single euro of taxpayers’ money is left unrecovered, so it can be reinvested in social and developmental initiatives,” he said.
The minister also added that projects funded under the 2016 development law will also be thoroughly investigated.
