Fitch upgraded National Bank of Greece and Eurobank to “BBB-“ from “BB+”, maintaining a stable outlook.
Meanwhile, Alpha Bank and Piraeus Bank were upgraded to “BB+” from “BB”, with a positive outlook.
The agency expects Greece’s economy to keep outperforming the Eurozone average, driven by steady investment growth, moderate consumption increases, and further declines in unemployment.
Combined with the Recovery Fund’s resources, this trend is expected to enhance banks’ ability to seize profitable business opportunities.
