Passenger traffic in Greek airports 5.2 pct up in H1 2025

A 5.2% increase in passenger traffic was recorded across all airports in the country in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, according to statistics from the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) released on Tuesday. Specifically, there were 32,350,859 passengers from January to June 2025, compared to 30,738,558 passengers in 2024.
Regarding aircraft arrivals and departures (domestic and international flights) in the first half of 2025, across the 39 airports in the country mainly under HCAA air traffic control, there was an increase of 3.8% compared to 2024.More specifically, a total of 253,851 flights took place between January and June 2025, compared to 244,634 flights during the same period in 2024.
Passenger traffic at the 24 airports managed by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) (Heraklion, Kalamata, Alexandroupolis,Limnos,Astypalaia, Ioannina, Chios, Kozani, Kastoria, Karpathos, Kythira, Milos, Skyros, Nea Anchialos, Paros, Syros, Araxos, Naxos, Kalymnos, Ikaria, Kastellorizo, Kasos, Leros, Sitia) recorded a 7.5% increase in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.Specifically, the total number of passengers (arrivals and departures on both domestic and international flights) from January to June 2025 reached 4,489,469, compared to 4,176,486 passengers in 2024.
