Greek Trade Deficit at €2.8 Billion in January: ELSTAT

Specifically, the total value of imports for January 2025 amounted to €6,906.4 million (€7,129.6 million) compared to €6,598.0 million (€7,173.3 million) in the same month of 2024, marking a 4.7% increase in euro terms.
According to ELSTAT data, the value of imports excluding petroleum products in January 2025 rose by €459.7 million, or 9.9%, while the value excluding both petroleum products and ships increased by €472.4 million, or 10.2%, compared to January 2024.
Greek Trade Deficit – ELSTAT: Exports exceed €4 billion
The total value of exports in January 2025 amounted to €4,097.1 million (€4,255.0 million) compared to €4,008.9 million (€4,384.7 million) in the same month of 2024, reflecting a 2.2% increase in euro terms. Exports excluding petroleum products saw a rise of €266.9 million, or 9.9%, while the value excluding both petroleum products and ships increased by €271.8 million.
The trade balance deficit for January 2025 stood at €2,809.3 million (€2,874.6 million) compared to €2,589.1 million (€2,788.6 million) in January 2024, marking an 8.5% increase in euro terms.
Excluding petroleum products, the deficit increased by €192.8 million, or 9.8%, while the deficit excluding both petroleum products and ships rose by €200.6 million, or 10.2%, compared to January 2024.
