Greek pole vault sensation Emmanouil Karalis won silver at the World Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China, on Saturday, once again breaking the national record.
Karalis finished second behind Sweden’s pole vault legend Mondo Duplantis at the Nanjing Youth Olympic Sports Park, clearing 6.05 meters. He then attempted to surpass his Swedish rival by attempting heights of 6.10m and 6.15m.
His remarkable progress in recent months culminated in this world-class performance, demonstrating not only his extraordinary athletic ability but also his determination to reach the pinnacle of his sport.
Karalis had previously secured gold at the European Indoor Championships last month.
