Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis expresses his condolences to the Catholic world, and especially to the community of Greek Catholics, in a Facebook post following the passing of Pope Francis.
Specifically, the Prime Minister writes:
“The faithful of the Roman Catholic Church mourn the loss of their spiritual leader, and Christians around the world share in their grief. Alongside them, every citizen of the Earth who believes in peace, friendship, and solidarity. These are values to which Pope Francis dedicated his life and work.
In these moments, our thoughts turn to the global flock of the Vatican. Especially, to the Greek Catholic community, to whom I extend my most sincere condolences. May the legacy of understanding and love that Pope Francis leaves behind find its best continuation.”
