Birth and family status certificates will no longer be required as supporting documents in the public sector as of Thursday. Citizens will no longer need to present them, as the information contained in these certificates will now be obtained electronically from the relevant services.
The electronic retrieval of birth and family status certificates is implemented in real time and fully automated through the gov.gr, using infrastructure that ensures speed, reliability, and security.
For each retrieval, the individual concerned will receive a push notification in their Gov.gr Wallet, as well as a message detailing the certificate request, including the institution, time, and employee who performed the search.
In cases where citizens require any of the above certificates for use abroad, in the private sector, or for judicial purposes, they will continue to be able to issue them digitally via gov.gr.
