Official Welcome of Serbian Health Minister to the Ministry
On Monday, July 28, 2025, Greece’s Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, welcomed Serbian Health Minister Zlatibor Lončar in Athens. The meeting was attended by senior officials from both countries, signaling the political will to institutionalize a structured and effective collaboration in the health sector.
A Memorandum of Understanding Focused on Patients
Minister Georgiadis referred to Serbia as a “sister country,” emphasizing the long-standing trust and cultural ties between the two nations. He described the talks as constructive and announced plans for signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministries in the coming months. He also confirmed his intention to visit Belgrade in October to formalize the agreement.
Common Ground in Oncology and Clinical Research
Minister Lončar highlighted key areas of joint interest, particularly oncology, clinical trials, and transnational healthcare programs. He expressed gratitude for Greece’s support regarding his candidacy at the World Health Organization and praised Greece’s continued backing of Serbia’s European integration. The two sides agreed to explore these domains jointly and with practical follow-up steps.

Adonis Georgiadis reaffirms his commitment to an outward-facing health policy. Through targeted alliances and institutional seriousness, Greece aims to establish itself as a central player in both European and regional health developments.
