The Personal Number, a Mandatory Requirement for Issuing an ID Card

As of today, Sunday, June 29, 2025, possessing a Personal Number is a mandatory requirement for completing the process of issuing an ID card, provided the applicant is eligible.

According to an announcement by the Hellenic Police, this rule does not apply to citizens who have taken the necessary steps to obtain a Personal Number but have not completed the process through no fault of their own.
